Paola Jorio

She started her dance studies in Balletto di Roma under Franca Bartolomei and Walter Zappolini. Received a degree from «professeur de danse académique» at Ecole Superieure d’Etudes Choréogaphiques in Paris. For many years she has been a dancer in Balletto di Roma company, becoming a teacher, choreographer and didactic directress in the same school.

In the same period as choreopgrapher for Federico Fellini in dance scenes for some of his films such as Winner of different competitions in both national and international choreography (Quattro passi nel delirio, Roma); she was author and consultant for dance didactic programmes for Rai (Itinerario Danza, Uno e Due, D come danza) and for private television. Collaborated with l’Ente Morale Giuseppina Saragat where she held dance therapy courses.

Winner of different choreography competitions both nationally and internationally, in 1997 she was called by Giuliana Penzi to assume the role of lecturer at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza where she stayed until 1993 when she was offered the position of vice directress at the dance school of the Rome Opera house.

Since 2000 she has been directress of the school and has actively worked on the promotion of dance within the young and growth in interest towards ballet, creating performances for schools bringing awareness of dance by showing artistic didactics created for this type of performance together with the students of the theatre's school.
